I have received a number of messages concerning my "acclamation". While the other candidate has withdrawn from the election, her name will still be on the ballot as the deadline for withdrawing was missed (and yes, her ballots will count). This means that it is necessary for me to be elected. I ask that you please mark an “X” beside Dave Gittings so that I may return as your Ward 3 Town Councillor. Your vote is also needed to determine who will be our Regional Chair, Mayor and Separate School Trustee. Eligible voters can vote at any of the polling stations in the Ward (see below) by showing ID with their name and address. Those who received a voter notice are encouraged to bring it along.

For Ward 3 residents, you may vote at one of the following locations between the hours of 10 a.m. and 8 p.m.

NEW DRIVE-THRU VOTING PILOT IN WARD 3

The town is piloting a new drive-thru voting location to gain input for future elections. In addition to an indoor voting location at Oakville Trafalgar Community Centre (OTCC), there will also be a drive-thru voting option at this site on October 24 during voting hours, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Signage will be on site to guide drive-thru voters to the multi-level parking garage.

This initiative is open only to Ward 3 residents. The location was chosen based on its size and the covered parking area, which helps during inclement weather events. The results of the pilot will provide information to the town on the feasibility of drive-thru locations being used in the next municipal election. Should there be a longer wait time at OTCC to use the drive-thru voting, residents may choose to vote in the indoor polling location. Town staff will be on site to assess and redirect voters to the indoor voting if the drive-thru option is busy.
